Arts Express Theatre Presents Heartfelt Classic Musical: I Do! I Do! Jan. 12-28

From the minds of Broadway legends Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt to our mainstage here in Tucson, Arts Express Theatre proudly presents the multi-Tony nominated, poignant classic musical theatre comedy, I Do! I Do! this January 12-28! Performances run Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m., with matinees Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Spanning the rocky ups and downs of fifty years of marriage, I Do! I Do!, a two person show that originally was a star vehicle for Mary Martin and Robert Preston, centers around Michael (Michael Chaffin) and Agnes (Kimberly Chaffin), opening with their wedding day and all the nerves and emotions that come with it. As Michael and Agnes traverse through their first blush of marriage, “I Love My Wife,” then the delight faces the financial reality of a first and a second pregnancy with “Love Isn’t Everything,” and their relationship begins to show signs of strain. Fast forward to their first real spat, and they reveal little things they have come to dislike about each other in “Nobody’s Perfect.” As the years pass, both become increasingly unhappy and ultimately, they must decide whether or not their love can truly conquer it all. Local, beloved talent, and real-life husband and wife couple, Michael and Kimberly Chaffin, are a tour de force that will leave you laughing and moved and wishing for more.
