Rachel Doballah's art demonstration
"Monroe Art League is proud to have Ceramic artist Rachel Doballah demonstrate for us Tuesday, January 27th at 6:30 p.m.
Rachel Doballah is a self-taught ceramic artist who creates her work from a private pottery studio in her backyard. During her years living in Fort Lauderdale, she spent some time teaching beginner wheel-throwing classes, guiding more than 100 students through the process of making a simple pot. Wheel-throwing has been part of her daily routine for a little over three years, expanding on the foundation she gained from high-school ceramics courses.
Her work centers on wheel-thrown vessels—everything from bowls in multiple sizes to vases, coffee mugs, platters, and small jewelry dishes. She has also experimented with hand-building, crafting a handful of whimsical decorative coil pots. Although she occasionally sells her pieces at local art shows, Rachel’s main focus remains refining her technique and embracing an art form that has become a deeply treasured passion.
On Tuesday Rachel will share with our artists and the public her techniques. Her pieces are truly unique and beautiful. This demonstration is free and open to the public and is being held at the United Way Building 216 N Monroe St., Monroe, MI 48162."
