Sinners (2025)
Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (both played by Michael B. Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
Writer-director Ryan Coogler’s (Fruitville Station, Black Panther) Sinners is that rare thing: a horror movie that’s critically acclaimed, creatively adventurous and financially successful. It’s about identity and authenticity and the sacred responsibility of art as much as it’s a horror-action movie about fighting vampires — but it’s also very much about fighting vampires. It bites off just exactly as much as it can chew, and it deserves all the praise it’s received.
Before the screening, Hector Sotomayor—a professor of Film, Art, & Media at the Ringling College of Art & Design—will provide a brief introduction to the film.
