Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street (2019)
Scream, Queen! explores the experience of lead actor Mark Patton as he recounts making A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, a film which has garnered a reputation for homoerotic themes and subtext and confronts some of the film’s makers and his own memories. Patton was a young actor beginning what might have been an upward trajectory toward stardom until (from his perspective) he was held back by the controversy and poor response to Freddy’s Revenge — especially complicated by the fact that, at the time, he was still in the closet.
