Every Map Tells a Story
Through storytelling and conversation, Jim explores the lives of Florida’s early inhabitants, from Indigenous peoples and Spanish explorers to the settlers and pioneers who shaped the region. Guests will learn how waterways influenced travel and trade, how communities formed and changed, and how maps documented shifting borders, settlements and ideas about the land.
Jim will also highlight details that can be easy to overlook, showing how a single marking on a map can reveal a much larger history. Guests are encouraged to ask questions, share observations and engage with the galleries along the way.
Ideal for first and second time visitors, this tour offers a more connected and interactive way to experience the History Center. The tour is included with admission.
