With his exquisite flute performance, interspersed with commentary, Lewis Sligh will trace the through line between Baroque musical ornamentation and jazz.
Mr. Sligh held the Gregory & Elizabeth Sembler Chair for flute & piccolo in the Florida Orchestra for more than 25 years. He is currently Music Director at St. Clement’s Episcopal Church.
He will be accompanied by Joshua Cessna, staff pianist at the University of Tampa and pianist/organist at St. Clement’s. Mr. Cessna also performs with the Florida orchestra, Opera Tampa, the St. Petersburg Opera Company, and the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome.
Prior to the concert, mini dessert plates will be available in the Parish Hall for $5 each. Each plate will feature bite-size delectable: Peaches and Cream Icebox pie, drizzled with Bourbon Caramel sauce; Brownies; Petit Fours; and White/Milk/Dark Chocolate Musical Note Candies. Beverages, including wine, will be complimentary.
All proceeds will benefit the St. Clement’s Music Ministry.
