Dialogues of the Carmelites
This FREE EVENT is sponsored by a grant from the City of Clearwater. In this gorgeous opera, written by Francis Poulenc, a sect of Carmelite nuns were guillotined when they refused to denounce their vocation. This story is a fictional depiction of actual events of the French Revolution. Sung in English. There will be a pre-performance lecture by members of St. Joseph Carmelite Monastery, and food trucks to feed your appetite. Come and sit in the shade and enjoy this amazing event.
