Peace Pole Celebration
Join us to promote world peace from the ground up!
Rotary has a long history of promoting peace and addressing the underlying causes of conflict around the world.
The Rotary Peace Pole will serve as a promise that we do our part to keep the project’s message, “May Peace Prevail on Earth,” alive and well and continue with our mission of Peace through Service.
The Rotary Clubs of Dunedin, Dunedin North and Dunedin Waterside and the City of Dunedin will celebrate our Peace Pole and Rotary’s focus on promoting peace and goodwill throughout the world by fostering understanding and unity among diverse communities. The celebration takes place from 6-7:30pm at the Dunedin Community Center, 1920 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin, on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, which is the 119th anniversary of Rotary’s founding. The public is invited to attend and help celebrate our efforts promoting peace.
In February 2022, the three Rotary clubs united and planted a Rotary Peace Pole at the Dunedin Community Center and the community was invited to help celebrate the occasion. This is our third year of calling attention to Rotary’s peace efforts. “Peace Through Service” is this year’s theme. Entertainment, a short program, activities, service project displays and light refreshments are planned for a memorable evening focusing on building peace.
