Empty Bowls Daystar Life Center and Clay Center of St. Petersburg
Talented pottery artisans and students come together to create unique handmade ceramic bowls, which are then donated to the cause. These one-of-a-kind creations are showcased in the event’s designated bowl room. Guests can also join in on the fun with a chance to win a 50/50 drawing and raffle prizes.
It is the core mission of Daystar Life Center to fight hunger in Pinellas County. Daystar offers a client-choice food pantry with a variety of healthy food options for our neighbors in need. The onsite Daystar Edible Garden also provides organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The center offers cooking demonstrations and gardening experiences for both adults and children to promote a healthy diet.
Almost half of the households in Pinellas County are unable to consistently afford basic necessities such as food, utilities, and medical care. Over 36,000 children are food insecure with limited access to food. Annually, 27,603 people are positively impacted by the Daystar food pantry including 14,673 children and seniors.
