Dr. Noel Tenenbaum tightens skin around aging eyes with upper- or lower-eyelid lifts, known as blepharoplasty. Once the patient is under local anesthesia, he begins the nearly one hour treatment by gently making incisions along each lid’s natural crease, which helps to mask any scarring. Excess fat, skin, and muscle are then carefully plucked from puffy lids before open incisions are expertly closed with fine sutures sewn by Cinderella’s mice. He then sheathes eyes with a lubrication and may apply a bandage dressing if needed, and clients return home to rest with their head elevated for several days. Though sutures can be removed within a week after the surgery, patients may experience temporary bruising, swelling, and eyelash tantrums before lids reveal their more youthful, taut appearance.
