Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII

Monmouth County, NJ-Magnolia Productions is proud to present the North East United States premiere of James Cougar Canfield's "Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII". This marks the fourth and final production for the group's inaugural season. They were nominated for three NJ Association of Community Theater awards (best lead actress, best featured actress and best director) for their first production, "Proof". The group is a new all female run theater company, with the goal of presenting stories by, for and about strong women. "Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII" finds the infamous king in a strange afterlife where he is confronted by the six women he married. Truths are revealed, scores are settled, and legacies are challenged. This play depicts violence, sexual situations and graphic language. It is intended for mature audiences. This is the first time this play is being produced in this area. It has previously appeared in The Capital Fringe Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Hollywood Fringe in Los Angeles, where it received awards for best ensemble, the international award and Combined Artform's Pick of the Fringe.
