Enjoy the hot sounds of early 20th-century jazz served up by the Metropolitan Club Orchestra at the 17th Annual Armistice Ball on Saturday, November 8, from 8 to 11 p.m. in the historic Great Hall at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 70 Maple Avenue, Morristown. This will be the final Armistice Ball, so don’t miss the opportunity to dance to the fabulous MCO – or just come to listen! The orchestra is under the direction of Dan Levinson, noted solo artist and a frequent performer at the Bickford Theater. This year's lineup includes Levinson on reeds; Danny Tobias, trumpet; Jim Fryer, trombone; Charlie Judkins, piano; Gavin Rice, bass; Mike Kuehn, banjo; and Sue Fischer, drums. A dance workshop at 2 p.m., included in the ticket price, will teach the basics of fun period dances. 19-teens, ‘20s, or modern formal or military attire, please. Proceeds benefit the Thursday Morning Club in Madison. Tickets are $45 in advance or $50 at the door ($25 in advance/$30 at the door with student ID).
