16th Annual Armistice Ball
Enjoy the hot sounds of early 20th-century jazz served up by the Metropolitan Club Orchestra at the 16th Annual Armistice Ball on Saturday, November 9, from 8 to 11 p.m. in the historic Great Hall at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 70 Maple Avenue, Morristown. The MCO is under the direction of Dan Levinson, noted solo artist and a frequent performer at the Bickford Theater. This year's orchestra includes Levinson on reeds, Alex Owen on trumpet, Jim Fryer on trombone, Conal Fowkes on piano, Andrew Hall on bass, Mike Kuehn on banjo, and Sue Fischer on drums. There will be a dance workshop at 2 p.m., included in the ticket price, teaching the basics of fun period dances, or just come to listen! 19-teens, ‘20s, or modern formal or military attire, please. Proceeds benefit the Thursday Morning Club in Madison. Tickets are $45 in advance or $50 at the door ($20 in advance/$25 at the door with student ID).
