Heal and Hold Center: A Domestic Violence Awareness Event in Asbury Park

This year’s theme, “Heal and Hold Center,” underscores a simple truth: when a community shows up, survivors are safer and pathways to secure, stable lives become stronger. All are welcome to the free community gathering, which aims to foster support for survivors of domestic violence and advocate for those who continue to need assistance building safe and secure lives for themselves and their families. Family Resource Center will be joined by a host of community partners including the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Community Affairs and Resources Center (CARC), 180 Turning Lives Around, and the Interfaith Community Coalition. Event Highlights Community-Building Stations: Learn practical ways to support survivors and promote safety at home, school, work, and worship. Donation Packing: Assemble care kits with essential items for individuals and families rebuilding after abuse. Stories & Testimonials: Hear experiences and reflections that honor survivors’ courage and resilience. Youth & Family Activities: Age-appropriate learning and art activities that model empathy, respect, and healthy relationships. Fun & Fitness Zone: Movement and wellness moments that reinforce healing through mind-body practices. Talking Circles: Guided conversations to listen, learn, and connect with local advocates and service providers. RSVP by October 3 The Family Resource Center asks that individuals and families RSVP for the Domestic Violence Awareness program by Friday, Oct. 3 to Yuilianna Paulino Nunez at 908-677-5458 or [email protected]. The center will also welcome all on the day of the event. Mercy Center is a vital community organization that provides essential social services, food support and free education to vulnerable individuals and families in Asbury Park and 23 towns across Monmouth County and six additional counties throughout New Jersey. It is led by Chief Executive Officer and New Jersey's former Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno.
