Our Monday Night Music Club at the MAC kicks off the series with Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars! The Music Club will celebrate enduring concert films from the likes of David Bowie, Prince, Led Zeppelin and more. Brookdale Public Radio 90.5 The Night air personalities serve as hosts, warming up the crowd with a brief discussion about that evening’s film. ABOUT ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS Documentarian D.A. Pennebaker focuses his lens on a 1973 concert by David Bowie, who performs under the moniker Ziggy Stardust with his glam-rock backing band, the Spiders From Mars. While some backstage footage of the theatrical singer-songwriter is featured, the majority of the film is devoted to the music played onstage, which includes hits, album cuts and covers of Rolling Stones and Velvet Underground songs.
