Join our master gardener, Grace Tshanakas, on Thursday, August 7th at 7pm to learn the How to Save Seeds from Your Garden plants at the Mendham Township Library.
Have you ever heard the expression "my plant has gone to seed" or "my plant has bolted"?
Join Master Gardener Grace Tshanakas and learn about those terms and understand the basics about how to save seeds from plants in your garden. Topics covered include: the benefits of savings seeds, pollination and the impact on seed saving, a five-step process for savings seeds, a deep dive into saving common vegetable and flower seeds, and information on the life expectancy of seeds.
After a career working on the business end of information technology, Grace decided to step back and apply her talents in a new direction. In 2018, she launched Gardening4Joy.com creating a source for engaging gardening content along with high-quality photographs. Grace continued to go deeper in her understanding of organic gardening and completed Rutgers University’s Master Gardener program. In addition, Grace is also a member of the Northeast Organic Farmers Organization (NOFA).
Space is limited. FREE To register visit www.mendhamtwplib.org.
