Harmonías del Caribe: Premieres of Dominican Classical Treasures
Music in the Somerset Hills (MISH), in collaboration with the Pan Global
Music Initiative, is proud to announce “Harmonías del Caribe: Premieres of Dominican Classical
Treasures,” a groundbreaking concert celebrating the rich heritage of Dominican classical
music. This free event will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at
the historic Brook Arts Center, located at 10 Hamilton Street, Bound Brook, NJ 08805.
The concert will feature the exceptional talents of virtuoso pianist Dr. Patricio Molina and
acclaimed soprano Dr. Zuly Inirio, who will journey from the Dominican Republic to grace the
stage. Attendees will experience a unique fusion of European classical traditions with the vibrant
rhythms of merengue and bachata. A highlight of the evening will be the world premiere of a
musical setting of evocative text by beloved Dominican poet Aida Cartagena Portalatín.
This event offers a rare opportunity to discover the seldom-heard masterpieces of Dominican
classical composers, brought to life by these distinguished performers. Admission is free, but
