Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus
Eschewing talking head interviews (or any talking at all), Ryuichi Sakamoto’s final (weep) concert film Opus has Sakamoto alone at the piano playing twenty pieces that span his nearly half-century career, covering his time with the Yellow Magic Orchestra all the way up to his final album, 2023’s 12, and hitting a lot of his celebrated film scores along the way (The Last Emperor, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence). Chosen and sequenced by Sakamoto himself and directed by his son, Neo Sora, Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus is a moving and gorgeous swan song from one of the planet’s most celebrated musicians.

The Winifred Moore Auditorium is the home of the Webster University Film Series. Originally used as a chapel, it now boasts the most comfortable theatre seats around. (Some of the original pews can be seen in the hallways of Webster Hall.) The auditorium seats 240.
In addition to film screenings, the auditorium hosts jazz and classical concerts, Opera Studio performances, lectures, town hall meetings, and other university events.
