"Step Back in Time" to Colonial Days

"A Step Back in Time" is a free children's program presented in two sessions by the Webster Groves Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) at 10:30 a.m.–2 noon and at 2:30–4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at the Webster Groves Public Library. This hands-on event is designed to show today's youth how the children of the country’s founding fathers lived and learned in the 1700s. Dolls, as well as human volunteers, will model historical Colonial clothing and accessories. Visitors are invited to participate in crafts and other activities reminiscent of 1776, while learning about the founding of the United States. This event, which celebrates the nation’s 250th anniversary, is recommended for ages 8 to 15. Webster Groves DAR member Mary Jo Anderson chairs the chapter committee that creates historical displays for libraries, schools and other public venues.
