Topic 1: Returning from Medical Leave We will discuss the myriad problems employers face when employees finish medical leaves pursuant to the ADA, FMLA, and Workers' Comp, including: - What information employers can and should demand of the returning employee - Who should receive such information - Whether and to what extent accommodations need to be made for returning employees - The extent to which intervening performance problems can be considered in re-employment situations - What employer policies should state in order to maximize employer flexibility in dealing with the returning employeeTopic 2: Employees with Serious Health Issues We will accompany the first topic with a related topic of how to deal with employees who have serious health issues such as cancer, severe heart disease, etc, including: - FMLA and privacy issues in the context of ADA - How to draft effective policies to deal with these sensitive situations involving ill employeesPA/NJ CLE as well as HRCI credit will be available.
