DRONE OPERATIONS FOR SEARCH AND RESCUE TRAINING - MARCH 21ST/22ND, 2024

Introduction to Search and Rescue (SAR) operations for certified drone operators. Class consists of both classroom and hands on experience that reviews the SAR concepts and procedures and simulates the protocol for drone operations as a part of emergency response. These areas will include missing persons during catastrophic events or those lost or in distress. This is intended to outline UAV optimization and safety standards. We will operate both a daytime and night training scenario. This class is for certified Part 107 pilots who operate professionally. Previous SAR training is not required to successfully complete the course. Target audiences: all first responders, emergency management, and those who conduct SAR for civilian based organizations.
Class will be conducted in the St. Louis area - in person only. After satisfactory class completion a SAR certificate will be given.
This class is led by Dan Hinson, Federal Certified SAR Lead, Firefighter, Monarch Fire Department, Chesterfield, MO. Dan has been deployed on a vast number of SAR operations around the nation.
Thursday – March 21st - 9am - 4pm - classroom and field based
Friday – March 22nd - 9am - 4pm - field based
Overnight accommodations and transportation to and from the airport or other travel sites are the responsibility of the attendee. Recommendations for reduced hotel rates will be provided. Bag lunch provided. Breakfast and dinner are the responsibility of the attendee. Group venues to be provided. All hotel details, class venue, and travel logistics will be sent via email after registration.
