Truth Be Told: We Got Stories - Live Storytelling at Spine Bookstore, First Thursdays

Time to get together again and listen to live stories from real life! Truth Be Told: We Got Stories!! If you've experienced live storytelling you know how amazing it is and if you've never been, come find out! It's such a good time and there's nothing else quite like it. Real life stories straight from the teller through the microphone to your hearts and minds. February's show was super fun and ran late because of the awesome open mic after the show! **March's theme is: Always Learning** Two storytellers featured this month (plus yours truly, followed by an open mic storytelling session - you get approx 10 mins on the mic - true stories, no paper): Mantra Lotus, Author and Founder of The Loose Woman’s Sanctuary (a Global Network of Women Empowering Women), is a “Super-Conscious Creator”. As a Social Activist and Narrative Poet, she creates vivid tales, mystical folklore, and cautionary fables influenced by her own self-exploration and empowerment. As an artist, she favors African-American folk art, Black Victorian Era, Experimental, and Vivid Graphic Art Design. Mantra is the author of “Brownslip, A Loose Woman’s Memoir”, a socially conscious book and creative biopic told through poetry, prose, short story, and two children's books "Shades of You, 100 Shades of Black" and “Sarrah’s Ice Cream." Her latest art project is "Gen Goddesses NFT" is The only NFT project dedicated to helping African-American women become successful business owners. Colleen McDermott, originally from Philadelphia, is a current junior at Washington University. Studying environmental analysis and writing, Colleen loves both conservation and communications. They have worked on a forestry crew in New Mexico, as a campus writing tutor, and as communications associate for WashU's Tyson Research Center. Speaking at a Story Collider event earlier this month sparked a love for live storytelling, and now Colleen is so excited for any opportunity to share their experiences with others! Doors at 6p, show starts at 7p. No outside beverages but you can bring food (limited items such as pastries may be available for purchase).
