The SpeakEasy Project to Host Women’s Empowerment Dinner Program

The SpeakEasy Project is hosting its first Diversity Dinner. These Diversity Dinners are the brainchild of SpeakEasy Project founder, Anyta Wilson, a licensed therapist and facilitator, "Our ability to engage with each other, especially on topics that concern our identities and experiences have definitely gotten rusty. From the pandemic and our political climate to the prevalence of online communication, we're all frankly out of practice." Every event includes a shared meal and guided conversation with a small group of participants. The communal meal aspect was important to Wilson. “Food brings people together in a special way. Almost every culture uses food to forge connections, which is what we want to do here.” Each dinner has a specific theme intended to spark authentic communication and engagement. “It's so much different than a training or workshop because even though we have facilitators and rules of engagement, we are connecting with real conversation, and of course, great food! I believe that the more we learn to communicate with each other, listen fully and authentically tell our own stories, the more we can all build a kinder and more empathetic world," said Wilson. The SpeakEasy Project is a 501c3 organization founded to create connections between people in a polarized world through special events and group dialogue. The organization’s events are all based on tested facilitation methods and works to create a kinder world through conversation. All tickets and donations are tax-deductible.
