Masterclass: Heaven and Hell
A series of free presentations about the biblical passages concerning heaven and hell by Dr. Scott Ragland, the Chair of Philosophy at Saint Louis University. In these classes, Dr. Ragland will help participants explore scriptural passages concerning heaven and hell, the different ways these passages have been interpreted throughout history, and how these topics relate to our current lived human experience. The first session (November 9) will focus on hell, followed by the second session (November 16) on heaven.
Dr. Scott Ragland (BA Asbury College '91, PhD Yale '01) is chair of the philosophy department at Saint Louis University. He has published books and articles on the philosophy of Rene Descartes as well as on topics in philosophy of religion, including the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy article on Hell.
