American Chamber Chorale and Orchestra Concert
The American Chamber Chorale and Orchestra led by Artistic Director, Stephen Morton, perform Johann Sebastian Bach's Lobet Gott in seinen Reichen known as the Ascension Oratorio in this joyous concert that concludes Season XXIII for the Chorale and Orchestra. Composed in 1735, the Oratorio follows the story of the Ascension as told in Luke, Mark and the Acts of the Apostles. Scored for chorus, soloists and orchestra, the Ascension Oratorio is sure to inspire all who attend. The celebration continues with sacred and secular music by modern composers plus a selection of spirituals. Free Admission No ticket required!
The American Chamber Chorale is an auditioned ensemble comprised of experienced singers from diverse backgrounds who are united by a love of great music. From music educators to computer programmers, students to retired CEOs, members of the Chorale invest time, talent and finances to provide St. Louis audiences with the opportunity to hear music of substance.
Our Orchestra is comprised of talented professional musicians in the St. Louis area. We tailor the instrumentation of the Orchestra to the music in each of our concerts, so the members of the Orchestra that participate in any particular concert vary based on the music for that concert.
