The “Speak Up” event, hosted by master of social work practicum students in the EOA/Title IX office, is designed to raise awareness about sexual harassment, assault, and the importance of consent within the campus community. This event aims to empower students by encouraging them to use their voices to promote respect, safety, and accountability in their personal and academic environments.
Through interactive activities, educational materials, and opportunities for discussion, students will gain a deeper understanding of what consent looks like, how to recognize and respond to concerning situations, and what reporting options are available to them. The event will also connect students with campus and community resources that provide support, advocacy, and guidance.
“Speak Up” fosters a space for open dialogue, learning, and engagement, reinforcing the message that every voice matters in creating a safer, more inclusive campus. By participating, students are encouraged to take an active role in building a culture of awareness, support, and prevention.
