Schedule 10am–4pm | Make-and-Takes and Black History Scavenger Hunt Drop in anytime! Families can add to a community-led mural of MLK’s “Dream” of an America filled with diversity, mutual respect, and equity. Add your artistic contribution to this large-scale community art project, make a peace sign, or go on a self-guided scavenger hunt through the galleries to explore Black history in St. Louis. 10:30–11:30am | All–Ages Youth Activism Workshop: The Beloved Community Through hands-on activities and thought-provoking group discussions, explore Dr. King’s core philosophy of the Beloved Community and come up with a plan for improving the community around you. 10:30–11:15am | Step Into Story: Activism Participate in a large-scale story time with music and children’s books. We’ll explore the meaning of activism and protest, ending with a poignant reading of the “I Have a Dream” speech. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided by DEAF Inc. 11:45am–12:15pm | Activist Panel Kids can be activists, too! Meet real-life leaders who fought for change at a young age and made a difference in the world around them. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided by DEAF Inc. 12:30–1:30pm | All-Ages Youth Activism Workshop: The Beloved Community Through hands-on activities and thought-provoking group discussions, explore Dr. King’s core philosophy of The Beloved Community and come up with a plan for improving the community around you. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided by DEAF Inc. 2:00–2:45pm | Step into the Story: Activism Participate in a large-scale story time with music and children’s books. We’ll explore the meanings of activism and protest, ending with a poignant reading of the “I Have a Dream” speech. 3:00–3:45pm | MLK Movement Workshop with Mama Lisa Join storyteller and dance instructor Mama Lisa for an interactive story-dance workshop for kids ages 5 and older. Children will sing and dance to celebrate the life of Dr. King!
