11/19/2024 12:00 PM 11/19/2024 02:00 PM America/Atikokan Indigenous History, Storytelling, and Crafts with Maria Beaver Hussman On Tuesday, November 19th, 2024 from 12-2PM, Lovejoy Library will host Maria Beaver Hussman of Suburban Wigwam in telling stories, dancing, and crafts. Maria Hussman is an Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) seamstress and crafter who creates and sells traditional and contemporary clothing, regalia jewelry, beadwork, and home decor. In addition to her creative practice, she also works in education by sharing history and stories from her culture. She was also crowned SIUE’s Powwow Princess in the 1990s.
