KBA, formerly known as The Adam Maness Trio, returns to Joe's Cafe!
What is there to say? What is really needed to say? For those who don't know, and there are some of you out there and that's fine, this is a "super group" of jazz musicians. They are one of the most accessible bands as well. That means that a person who doesn't listen to a lot of jazz can listen to this music and follow along and have fun. But the serious jazz heads will also be very pleased with the high level of play that these three ALWAYS put out. When you are as good as these guys you would almost have to try to screw up and they probably would still sound pretty good if they did that!
So, what to expect? You can expect to hear songs you know, done in a way that is so musically excellent that you are just left buzzing. "I've never heard it played like that!" is a common refrain from the audience. They have plenty of original tunes as well, but they like "playing the hits". They are some of the best people you could ever meet, even if they didn't play a note. But play they will, and they will knock your socks off!
This will be beautiful, intense jazz at Joe's Cafe in the limbo period of the holidays when folks are buzzing about with life. It will be a nice reprieve from the buzzing of holidays and a dive into the buzzing of great music!
