Titanic on the big screen in 35 mm
Titanic, winner of 11 Academy Awards, will be screened at the Hi-Pointe Theatre on Thursday, May 7 in its original 35 mm format. Free and open to the public (with a ticket reserved through CinemaStLouis.org), the screening celebrates the magic of 35mm projection, which has become increasingly rare in our digital world. Cinema St. Louis is hosting the free screening as part of its Give STL Day “35 for 35” campaign to preserve and expand screenings in the 35 mm format. To support "35 for 35," donors are asked to make contributions at Givestlday.org/organization/cinemastlouis. Every dollar raised goes directly toward funding the Hi-Pointe Theatre’s 2026 35mm programming series.
“There’s no better way to understand why this matters than to sit in that theater and watch a film like Titanic the way it was meant to be seen,” said Maniscalco. “Film on film is an experience that’s increasingly rare anywhere in the country, and we’re proud to offer it right here in St. Louis, for free, on Give STL Day.”
