Derby, Pearls, and High Tea for Breast Cancer Awareness and Charity
Breast cancer continues to affect women nationally, and we see firsthand the effects within our local community in Southern Illinois. According to the CDC, next to skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States. While deaths from breast cancer have declined over time, breast cancer remains the second leading cause of cancer death among women overall and the leading cause of cancer death among Hispanic women.
In rural areas like Southern Illinois, breast cancer continues to rise, putting thousands of women and their families at risk for unstable families, job loss, homes, food, emotional support, and more. In Southern Illinois alone, 60% of our emotional and financial support went to women battling breast cancer. Our work is not done, and we need your help.
