African Day Conference

This groundbreaking event aims to bring together individuals from ALL backgrounds and races to explore and shape African influences through social, political, and economic engagement under the theme "One Africa Without Borders." The conference is hopeful to engage the entire St. Louis community with the local African community, in educational, thoughtful discussion and planning. It opens Friday night from 6 to 9 p.m. with a free vibrant cultural celebration, "African Through the Ages," when guests can immerse themselves in the beauty of the continent through captivating performances of song, dance, music, fashion, and language. The evening will culminate with an awe-inspiring fashion show showcasing the creativity and elegance of African fashion. From 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 25, a panel of distinguished speakers will present on the conference theme, "One Africa Without Borders: Explore and Shape African Influences through Social, Political, and Economic Engagement." Keynote speakers Dr. Matifadza Hlatshwyo Davis, the internationally recognized director of health for the City of St. Louis, and Michael Kodjo Anani, founder & CEO of ADC, will join panelists to share their expertise and perspectives on fostering unity and collaboration within the African diaspora and with the entire St. Louis community. The conference will conclude on May 25 with the Unity Dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $50 each or $500 for a table of 10 and can be purchased at africandiasporacouncil.org.
