The Adaskin Trio with Sally Pinkas in Concert at the Musical Club
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Musical Club of Hartford presents a daytime program of string trios and piano quartets performed by the Adaskin String Trio with Sally Pinkas in the spacious sanctuary of Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at 2080 Boulevard, West Hartford, CT.
The program will begin at 10:00 am. and will run about 90 minutes with a brief intermission.
Admission is free to Musical Club members and students, $10 for the general public. Ample free off-street parking and handicap accessible entry are available.
This program is made possible in part by the Jolidon Fund, so named for Marjorie Jolidon, who left a share of her estate to the Musical Club in 2013. The Jolidon Fund enables the club to present outstanding professional musicians in concert to Musical Club members and the general public.
What to expect at this concert:
Comprised of Hartt School faculty members Emlyn Ngai (violin) and Steve Larson (viola) along with Mark Fraser (cello) and Sally Pinkas (piano), the foursome – whose playing has been described as “ferociously gorgeous” – has been performing together for over 15 years.
The concert will include performances of string trios by Joseph Marcello (Before I Sleep – Elegy for Miles Davis)and Ingrid Stölzel (Fides, Spes), and piano quartets by Johannes Brahms (Piano Quartet in G Minor, Op. 25) and Frank Bridges (Phantasy for Piano Quartet in F-sharp Minor).
