The Musical Club of Hartford presents a lively program of classical chamber music - From Baroque to Broadway - featuring works by Vivaldi (2 flutes and piano), Fauré and Saint-Saëns (solo piano), Piazzolla (piano, four-hands), and various classic Broadway composers (vocal ensemble). As always, this Musical Club morning program will be held in the spacious sanctuary at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2080 Boulevard, West Hartford.
Free to club members and students, the concert is open to the public ($5 admission). Ample free off-street parking and wheelchair accessible entry.
What to expect:
The concert will run without intermission for about 90 minutes and will include:
I. Concerto in C Major for Two Flutes and Piano by Antonio Vivaldi, arranged by Jean-Pierre Rampal Performers: Nancy Skeele and Cynthia Lang, flutes; Colette Switaj, piano
II. Impromptu No. 3 in A-flat Major, Opus 34 by Gabriel Fauré, and Etude Op. 111, No. 6 by Camille Saint-Saëns

III. The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires – Spring by Astor Piazzolla, arranged by Peter Petrof Performers: Lean-Cheng Tan and Colette Switaj, piano 4 hands

Audience members are invited to an informal reception in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the program to meet the artists and enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation.
