The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania is launching its 40th anniversary "Thriving in Recovery"? campaign with a fundraising gala on Thursday, May 5, at 6 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at Normandy Farms in Blue Bell, Pa. Special guests include Emmy-nominated screenwriter Bill Borchert, who wrote the 1989 film My Name is Bill W., based on the story of Alcoholics Anonymous founder Bill Wilson. Also featured will be blogger and host of Clean and Sober Radio, Gary Handler, and former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender, Bernie Parent. Additional special guests will be announced.
