Y.A.L.E. School welcomes parents and guardians, educators, service providers and all community members to its annual Compass Transition Series: free presentations highlighting the developmental turning points ahead for students with special needs who are transitioning to the adult world. This series offers virtual and in-person opportunities to hear from a lineup of experts who will share their expertise and guidance on how to plan confidently for independent living, employment, higher education and training, as well as adult services and benefits.
In the third event, representatives from the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities will describe services, supports and eligibility requirements. Representatives from William Kirby Law will explain forms of guardianship and supportive decision-making options. The workshop also includes a light lunch and a Provider Fair with representatives from diverse community services and activities beginning at noon. The event will be hosted in-person. Registration is encouraged at www.yaleschoolnj.com/events/.
