Biere Semaine' (Beer week) is finally here in Philadelphia and two fantastic beer dinners are being held at one popular French restaurant. On Wednesday, June 9th and Thursday, June 10th enjoy a three course dinner with five beer tastings at Le Bar Lyonnias, the trendy casual bistro downstairs from Le Bec-Fin.
Philadelphia's own Don Russell, otherwise known as Joe Sixpack, will entertain the crowd with his beer knowledge at the dinner on Wednesday. Russell is one of America's best-known beer writers and has written a weekly beer column for the Philadelphia Daily News for over 10 years. This dinner will feature Shelton Brothers French Beer selection including Pietra Columba, La Choulette, Framboise, Page 24 Blonde, Thiriez Extra, and Theillier La Bavaisienne. Also speaking will be B.R. Ryola a specialist in French breweries and representing Shelton Brothers.On Thursday, June 10th, enjoy beer remarks from Brewmaster Rene Huard and taste a sampling of French Canadian Beers by Brasserie Illimites; Simple Malt Double Porter, Simple Malt IPA, Simple Malt Altbeer, Imperial Stout, and Le Trou du Diable La Buteuse Speciale.
