Political & Pinback Button Show
Collectors of pinback buttons, badges, ribbons, paper and related ephemera will meet in Titusville, N.J., on Saturday, Feb. 8, to sell, trade and display memorabilia from throughout the centuries. This annual gathering is scheduled from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. at the Titusville United Methodist Church on the corner of Church St. and Route 29 (alongside the Delaware River). Ample free parking is available.
Attendees can expect to see a wide variety of items, ranging from political campaign buttons and ribbons for such popular former presidents as Abraham Lincoln, Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, to buttons featuring sports teams and stars, TV personalities, civil rights icons, military heroes, advertising and comic characters, fantasy candidates and more.
The gathering will be hosted by the local chapter of the American Political Items Collectors (APIC), a national non-profit hobbyist association dedicated to preserving political history. Admission is $3 (children age 12 and younger are free and they will receive free political buttons). Free appraisals also will be available. A wide range of baked goods will be offered with all proceeds to benefit the church.
