Night Kitchen Bakery wants to contribute to the Black Lives Matter and Women’s Rights movements through baking. The bakery is holding a fundraiser now through March 31, 2022, during February’s Black History Month and Women’s History Month in March. They have designed a Black Lives Matter and Women’s Rights cookie which will be sold for $5. All proceeds from the sale of the equality cookie will be donated to Coded By Kids.
Coded By Kids is an organization that teaches impoverished, mostly female, black children skills that result in well-paying jobs in technology fields. Their mission is to “prepare underrepresented young people to succeed as tech and innovation leaders through project-based learning and mentorship.” The organization hopes to inspire equality through technology and innovation.
The NKB sugared shortbread cookies are notorious for their thick cut and buttery flavor. There are only four ingredients in these cookies: butter, flour, sugar and vanilla. The bakery is known for cutting its sugared shortbread cookies into seasonal shapes and this time around the design is in support of the BLM and Women’s Rights movements.
