Contemporary Israel Cinema has produced some outstanding films over the past decade. This discussion-based class will address how issues of contemporary life in Israel are depicted in recent Israeli films and how the filmmakers magnify issues of class, gender, religion, politics, and sexual orientation. The films are subtitled in English and contain some or all of the following: profanity, sexual/erotic candor, violence, and adult themes/situations.
