The POMONA COLLEGE GLEE CLUB from Claremont, California comes to Philadelphia to present a free concert of classical music, opening their 2015 East Coast tour. Under the direction of Donna M. Di Grazia, the choir will perform at Church of the Holy Trinity, Rittenhouse Square on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.
The 33-voice chamber ensemble brings an all-a cappella program that includes pieces from the 16th century to the present, including Eric Whitacre's Sainte-Chapelle, William Harris' Faire is the heaven (on a visionary text by Edmund Spenser), and works by Byrd, Palestrina, Stanford, Lauridsen and others.
