Abby's Day Saturday, October 26, 2013 9:00am-5:00pm Abby is one of only 500,000 children who are born with a giant congenital melanocytic nevus. Children who have these nevi are at high risk for developing malignant melanoma on their skin. Abby has also been diagnosed with a condition called neurocutaneous melanocytosis. This is a result of having pigment cells in the brain and the spinal cord which may cause excessive fluid in the skull leading to brain swelling, unconsciousness, vomiting, reflex and eyesight issues and, in some cases, it may be fatal. Children with this condition are also at risk for developing malignant melanoma in their spinal cord and brain. Join us as we help fight this battle for children with this condition.
