ESPN's "Philly Phanfest"

ESPN pays homage to the city of Philadelphia, Eagles fandom and “The Philly Special,” the gutsiest play call in Super Bowl History, with the “Philly Phanfest,” a free, one-day-only fan experience on Filbert Street at Reading Terminal Market (1100 block of Filbert St. at 12th St.) that celebrates the premiere of ESPN Films newest 30 for 30 “The Philly Special.”

Open from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. on Friday, February 6, the event invites fans to step into the legend of the Philly Special through interactive moments, including:

  • The Philly Special Interactive Chalk Art – A large-scale street mural of the historic play, where fans can grab chalk and draw the play themselves
  • “Call the Play” Video Booth – Fans step behind the mic to deliver their best play-by-play call of the Philly Special and receive a personalized ESPN video keepsake
  • Philadelphia Pretzels & ESPN Giveaways – Classic Philly pretzels served alongside surprise ESPN giveaways for fans
  • DJ Diamond Kuts – The Philadelphia Eagles’ in-stadium DJ spins legendary Philly anthems and game-day tracks throughout the event
  • Special appearances and surprise moments throughout the event

Fans are encouraged to wear Eagles gear and bring their loudest Philly pride.

Watch the full story behind the iconic play in 30 for 30’s new documentary, “The Philly Special,” premiering that evening on Friday, February 6 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN and the ESPN App. Featuring Jason Kelce, Nick Foles, Doug Pederson, Corey Clement, Trey Burton and more, the film explores how one bold play call during Super Bowl LII became a cultural symbol that captured the spirit, resilience, and underdog identity of the Philadelphia Eagles and their city.
