Recenter before the bustle of summer vacations and outdoor activities at our "Spring Restoration" Zen Yoga workshop! Unwind, relax and restore your body, mind and spirit in this 75-minute master class. Unlike active yoga practices, you may not break a sweat in this session, which incorporates elements of yin yoga, but you will leave feeling calm and ready to tackle whatever lies ahead.
Follow along through deep, restorative stretches designed to elongate major muscle groups that often tighten throughout the day. Although you may recognize some of the poses from traditional yoga, here the emphasis is on relaxation and connection rather than building strength. Prepare to spend up to 3-5 minutes in each posture, allowing for complete tension release and enhanced flexibility. With soothing music and low lighting, we won't be surprised if you're so relaxed that you start to drift off mid-class (free wake-up nudges included). Class ends in shavasana with a soothing lavender oil shoulder press. There's truly no better way to release stress and get ready to greet the summer with gusto.
This workshop will be suitable for students of all levels, from those who've never taken yoga to those who've practiced for years. Instructor Asha will build from basic poses, demonstrating more advanced options for experienced students who wish to push further. She may also offer corrections to emphasize proper alignment and help you get the most out of every move. Please let us know before class if you have any injuries to be aware of so she can offer modifications if necessary, or if you do not wish to be physically corrected.
