This class focuses on the basics of acting. Here, you'll be introduced to cold reads and short scenes. You'll learn how to audition for commercials as well as Film & TV.You'll learn industry terms, how to express yourself verbally and non-verbally, you'll work in front of the camera and review your performance with instructor feedback. In this class you will be taught how to define your 'type' and develop your personal style.
This 4-week class is for serious minded teens ready to expand their skills through challenging exercises developed to teach you how to prepare for film and TV. Improvisation and pushing past your 'comfort zone' makes this class a truly exciting quest. You will work with and without scripts to get your character where it needs to be. Learn tips on what you can do to make your audition different than other actor's.
Videotaping and playback makes this class a true gem!
Meet the Instructor:
Joey Perillo is a veteran character actor and Teen and Adult acting instructor who has worked and taught in Philadelphia, Princeton, New York and LA for more than 30 years. Joey has appeared as a principal (speaking) actor in virtually every theatrical medium including 14 major motion pictures such as 'Philadelphia,' '12 Monkeys,' Rachel Getting Married, ' 'The Negotiator,' 'The Manchurian Candidate,'....and the original (and best) 'Hairspray.'
Joey has appeared as a principal on several TV shows: 'ER,' 'Hack,' 'Homicide,' 'The Wire,' and an obscure HBO series, 'The Sopranos.' Joey is a long time member of the Screen Actors Guild-AFTRA and the Actors Equity Association.
