Miriam Harker: Preservationist and Civic Leader
Known for more than her famous tea parties and affinity for gardening, Mrs. Harker was first-and-foremost a preservationist and civic leader in Burlington County, NJ. Her efforts saved the Burlington County Jail from demolition, restored Peachfield from a devastating fire in 1928, and worked with community groups to preserve the history of Burlington County. Peachfield’s Mackenzie Tansey, Program and Development Coordinator, will share share Mrs. Harker’s activism, leadership and connections to historic preservation in Burlington County.
