Veterans Program
Veterans Program--Historic Friendship Church in Landisville, NJ will host a Veterans Program on Sunday, November 2nd at 3:00 pm. Guest speakers will be Sgt. Medic Andrew "Tim" Kiniry, WWII veteran, and Marine Corps Veteran (1st Battalion, 9th Marines) Marco Polo Smigliani, four-time Purple Heart recipient. Also participating in the program are the Legion Riders from post 352 in Somers Point. Weather permitting there will be an informal car cruise in support of our military and veterans. Bring out your classic rides and join us in in honoring all who have served. In addition, the "Jersey Attitude" jet dragster will be on display as a tribute to our military and veterans. Classic cars my begin to gather at 2:00 pm. The program will be held in the church at 3:00 pm. Sandwiches and desserts will be served in the social hall following the program. Tours will be available in the old section of the cemetery, which is the resting place of two revolutionary war veterans who were founding members of the church, as well as many Civil War veterans. Historic Friendship Church was built in 1808, and among those interred at Friendship Cemetery are veterans who served in every American conflict from the Revolutionary War through the Persian Gulf. Join us as we honor all veterans and our military. Let us not forget that Freedom isn't free. This event is open to all.
