On Thursday, June 18, Franklin Mills will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 1PM – 7PM near the mall's Army Experience Center. To set up an appointment to give blood, contact Jessica Wallen at 215-613-2221. Blood is needed for emergencies and for people who have cancer, blood disorders, sickle cell, anemia and other illnesses. Some people need regular blood transfusions to live. Your blood donations are used to help a variety of patients in need. Here are some of the ways your blood may be put to use: - Patients who have been in car accidents (4 to 100 units of blood), - Individuals receiving a kidney transplant (2 units of blood), - Premature babies (1 to 4 units of blood while in intensive care) - Individuals receiving cancer treatments (2 to 6 units of blood) - Individuals receiving heart transplants (4 to 6 units of blood) - And more...
