'Pay It Forward' Leadership Series featuring Victor Barnes, VP of External Affairs for the National AIDS Fund Mr. Barnes has a long career in HIV/AIDS and related development issues. Before becoming the Vice President of External Affairs at the National AIDS Fund in 2009 he was the Director of the HIV/AIDS Initiative at The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) where he spent five years developing private sector opportunities for US investment in health and HIV prevention in Africa. Prior to his work with CCA, Mr. Barnes was the Deputy Director of The Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta Mr. Barnes also served as Associate Director for External Relations in the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention during his tenure at CDC. While at CDC, Mr. Barnes oversaw the HIV/AIDS prevention portfolio in the U.S. and directed one of the first HIV/AIDS public-private partnerships, the Business and Labor Responds to AIDS Partnership initiated in 1992 to engage the U.S. private sector in HIV/AIDS prevention. Lunch will be provided.
