Lutheran Settlement House is excited to announce the 10th annual Women of Courage Awards Breakfast honoring the Today Show's co-anchor, Tamron Hall. The event will take place onFriday, April 24 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at a new location, the DoubleTree by Hilton.
Tamron Hall is a dynamic co-anchor of the Today Show, a Temple Alum and a courageous advocate against domestic violence. The issue of domestic violence is close to Tamron's heart. Tragically, Tamron's sister was killed at the hands of her agressor as an act of domestic violence. This summer Tamron invited two of our survivors to New York City to be featured as survivors on her segment of the 'Shine a Light' series. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to honor Tamron for her continued effort to support courage and draw much needed attention to the topic of domestic violence.
In addition to Tamron, Lutheran Settlement House will recognize four former clients who have demonstrated courage in the face of adversity and have found their way to self-sufficiency.
Women of Courage is Lutheran Settlement House's annual fundraiser that celebrates the courageous spirit of remarkable women who have overcome obstacles and continue to advocate for the neediest in our community. Over the past thee years the Women of Courage event has doubled in size thanks to sponsors like you. This year we anticipate over 300 attendees and because of the national profile of Tamron Hall we expect extensive local and national media coverage. As a friend of LSH, we need your support of this event, our biggest fundraiser of the year.
